First things first, start your day with a coffee and a quick bite at Grace Coffee Co.<\/a> or see for yourselves why everyone loves the local Hubbard Avenue Diner<\/a>. If you can, get an early check-in to your hotel<\/a> and get settled before heading out for some outdoor adventures-we’ve got plenty to choose from.<\/p>\n\t

Hit the Trails<\/h4>\n

If you’re looking to do a little hiking and snowshoeing, there’s no shortage of trails at Pheasant Branch Conservancy<\/a>. Its 682 acres contain miles of trails with stunning views no matter the season. But in order to continue to protect the restored prairie land, please keep only to the trails.<\/p>\n\t

The CXC Outdoor Center<\/a> includes cross-country ski trails<\/a> and bike trails. From December to March, visitors can get a trail pass (available online<\/a>), rent skis, enjoy groomed trails, and take part in events hosted by the center. While you’re there, take a spin on some fat tire bikes right next door at the Middleton Bike Park<\/a>.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\"\"\n

\n\t\tGovernor Nelson State Park\n\t<\/h2>\n\t

Click into your skis at\u00a0Governor Nelson State Park<\/a> (less than 15 minutes from Middleton).\u00a0With four groomed trails that vary from easy to moderate difficulty, you can ski from one to the next. You have your options when it comes to ice skating in Middleton. There are a couple of outdoor rinks with outdoor flood lighting that are cleared as the weather permits. Always look for warnings of thin ice and use caution when skating over any depth of water.<\/p>\n
